Not knowing the person or the so called "prophet" I would be suspicious of a wolf in sheep's clothing or someone who is described in this passage.
2 Timothy 3:1 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. 6 For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, 7 always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth.
As to there being Prophets in the Baptist church, there are certainly people who have the gifts of a prophet as outlined in this passage.
1 Corinthians 14:3 On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation.
Someone who claims to know the past of another person is highly suspect. While God may give someone a word of knowledge about another person in order to help them to become more like Jesus, it is the Devil and his evil minions who have been around as long as humans have who try to deceive people by giving them revelations about things that have happened in the past.
If I were you I would tell your friend to talk with the Pastor of the Baptist church and ask him about her situation with her "ministering to a prophet".
